About Me
I am the operations manager for two small businesses, a local contracting company and a product development company. I also have past experience working for the WI DNR (Department of Natural Resources) Forestry Division as a Senior Internet Technology Specialist (AKA web developer), gotta love those bloated State titles. Before that I had my own technical consulting/repair company and worked for EarthLink as a tech support representative.
In the past my jobs required me to have a extensive knowledge of technology and web design. More recently my duties include project management, scheduling, office management, product development, product contract negotiations and virtually anything else needed to keep the companies running as smooth as possible.
When I first started with the contracting company 6+yrs ago everything was handwritten on paper. Contracts, invoices, statements, material orders and so on. Along with this the company had recently invented and patented a product and was still in the R&D phases. I assist in the R&D process, packaging, manufacturing, national independent representative management, trade shows and everything else related to the product(s). I also filed all necessary paperwork with the state to formalize the new company, and since then have filed additional paperwork for provisional patents & trademarks.
I have successfully merged a combination of SaaS products and custom web apps I have created to help in streamlining the companies and centralizing the data in a fast, efficient and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection solution.
In my “downtime” I enjoy working on other personal projects like this one, where I attempt to share my experiences and knowledge freely with hopes that it will help someone else going through what I have. I have multiple friends in different areas of business that I spend time with on a regular basis discussing business operations and business technology, their current problems and how to attempt to resolve them.
My personal goal is to learn as much as possible regarding these topics and to be able to help other people out there with some of the same issues I have already gone through. I also hope to create a nucleus of other business & technology minded people who are willing to freely consult with each other regarding their current issues and will work together to find proper solutions for their issues at hand.
